For four generations my family’s been exploring new ways to do things…pushing the limits. In the early 20th century, my great grandfather and his brothers organized The Royal Theatre Company. It was this company that constructed the Rubens Rialto Square Theatre project, which opened in 1926. Since then numerous performers have been seen on the Rialto’s stage. It is my passion to continue the spirit of what my great grandfather started over 100 years ago.
Rob Rubens Distilling & Brewing, built on a legacy of entrepreneurship, and unwavering attention to detail, is set back in the early 20th century. Alcohol was outlawed in the US, and Capone’s and Moran’s gangs were running around the streets of Chicago and hiding out at the Rubens Theatre. Now we invite you to hide out at our speakeasy in LA and imbibe the spirits and history that defined us.
