Extracted from Lost State Distilling
In 1784 the area of now Northeast Tennessee was offered to the Union from North Carolina as payment for debts from the American War for Independence. The cession was not accepted, and the residents of the territory seceded from North Carolina to become the State of Franklin. Unfortunately after 4 years North Carolina rescinded its offer of cession and fought to reclaim the now seceded lands.
Though the State of Franklin was short lived their ideals live on. We chose the Lost State name to carry the heritage of our region into every spirit we craft. Not satisfied with the current state of industrialized spirits we are aiming to break away and join the craft spirit revolution to bring our unique small batch spirits to an eager market in need of change.
Owned by Nick Bianchi and Joe Bianchi, We are working to bring craft gin and small batch whiskey to the regional spirit market.
The groundwork has been laid and we are almost ready to move onto the next phase of bringing our dream to life. We hope that you will join us on our journey.
