Extracted from Adnams Distillery
Our distillery, the Copper House, sits within the Adnams brewery in Southwold. It’s the most energy-efficient distillery in the UK and also generates water and steam for the brewery, forming an integral part of our overall sustainable production system.
Adnams is the first brewery / distillery (a bristillery?!) in England that’s able to produce high quality spirits directly from malted grains all the way through to the finished product. We use the same local ingredients to make our spirits – barley, rye, wheat and oats – as we do for our beers.
We use the best modern distilling techniques and a small batch process in order to create spirits with exceptional purity, quality and, of course, flavour. They key here is our ability to control every aspect of our spirits production – we even grown our own rye from fields just a few miles from the distillery.
Launched in 2010, our spirits have received many plaudits and awards from across the world, including the coveted ‘world’s best’ trophies for our gin and vodka.
